WordPress speed optimization. Faster on every phone.

WordPress speed optimization makes a slow site load quickly by fixing what holds it back: heavy themes and plugins, large images, render-blocking scripts, a crowded database and weak hosting. yop optimizes WordPress sites from Tallinn to pass Core Web Vitals on phones, and shows the result in a before-and-after report.

Page speed

Why is my WordPress site slow?

Most slow WordPress sites share the same few causes: a multipurpose theme or page builder that loads code for features you don’t use, too many plugins, images uploaded at camera size, scripts that block the page from showing, and shared hosting with a slow server response. A caching plugin masks part of the problem, never all of it.

Speed matters because people leave pages that make them wait, and Google uses Core Web Vitals as one of its ranking signals. A faster site usually turns more of the same traffic into enquiries or orders.

  • LCP. When the largest piece of content finishes loading. Goal: 2.5 seconds or less.
  • INP. Lag after each tap or click until the screen updates. Keep it under 200 ms.
  • CLS. How much things shift around as the page loads. Goal: 0.1 or less.
  • TTFB. How fast the server answers: the hosting part of the problem.

What we fix

Six places speed gets lost.

01

Images

Served as WebP or AVIF, sized per screen and loaded only when scrolled into view.

02

Scripts and styles

Unused CSS and JavaScript removed or delayed, so the first view paints without waiting.

03

Caching and CDN

Page, object and browser caching set up correctly, with a CDN serving files close to visitors.

04

Plugins and theme

Heavy plugins replaced or removed; when the theme itself is the problem, we say so and quote a rebuild.

05

Database

Old revisions, transients and leftovers from deleted plugins cleaned out, and slow queries found.

06

Hosting

Server response measured; if the host is the bottleneck, a move to better hosting planned and done.

How it runs

Four steps to a faster site.

01

Measure

Field data from Chrome users and lab tests on key pages, saved as the baseline.

02

Find the causes

Theme, plugins, images, scripts, database and server checked one by one.

03

Fix on staging

Changes made on a copy, and every page type tested so nothing breaks.

04

Report

Numbers from before and after, plus a few house rules that keep the site quick.

Keeping it fast

Will the site stay fast after optimization?

Only if new content and plugins follow the same rules. One large video on the homepage or a new chat plugin can undo a week of work. After the optimization we hand over a short list of rules for editors, and with a maintenance plan we check speed every month and fix regressions as they appear.

Field data in Google Search Console takes about four weeks to reflect changes, because it is based on real visits over 28 days. We check it again after that period.

Send us the slowest page, we find out why.

Expect our answer two working days later: the first causes we see and a fixed price for the fix.

Questions

Asked about speed.

How much does WordPress speed optimization cost?

yop charges a fixed price agreed after the speed audit, based on the number of page types, the plugins and the hosting setup. If a rebuild is the better option, we quote both.

Most sites take from a few days to two weeks, including testing on staging. Search Console’s field data catches up over the next four weeks.

Yes. All changes are made and tested on a staging copy first, then moved to the live site at a quiet time.

Yes. Core Web Vitals are one of Google’s ranking signals, and a faster site also keeps more visitors, which helps conversions as much as rankings.

Not always. If the server stays slow even with caching, better hosting is the cheapest fix. We measure it before recommending a move.

Yes. Stores need extra care with cart, checkout and account pages that can’t be fully cached, and we test every step of the checkout after changes.

Then the theme or the page builder is the ceiling, and the audit tells you that plainly. We can rebuild the site on a lean theme and keep the design and content.
